What is Neuropsychology
Neurology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study and treatment of neurological disorders. This includes disorders of the brain, the peripheral nerves and the spinal cord. It also involves the study of structural and functional disorders that encompass birth defects and degenerative disorders like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, etc. Neurology is also connected to psychiatry and oncology. Neuro-oncology covers the diagnosis and management of brain tumours, metastases(cancer that spreads from the original site to the brain) and neurological cancer. The disorders that affect children are often different from those that affect adults and are treated by pediatric neurologists.
