Majority of Plastic Surgery consists of reconstructive surgery, which involves surgical repair of congenital deformities such as hand and feet abnormalities, cleft lip, cleft palate, post-surgical reconstruction such as breast and head-and-neck defects following cancer, and correction of post-traumatic defects of the upper limb, lower limb and face. In addition to reconstructive surgery, aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery is an integral part of Plastic Surgery.
